As i reported in an earlier thread, i’ve been tinkering with a Panasonic CF-08, to use as a cockpit repeater for my laptop. I don’t like the Panasonic, but it prompted me to look into some other options for my Lenovo tablet. I have a Toshiba laptop, running OpenCPN with VMH charts. Connected to the laptop is a cheap GPS puck and a bluetooth feed from my AIS.
OpenCPN is first of all – free. The software is a chart plotter with many useful features perfect when on a course at sea. The software was created by sailors and is being continuously improved by them. It functions just as well as expensive chart plotters. You can take advantage of OpenCPN with a laptop connected to a GPS receiver.

It reads quite all charts formats, and is really easy to use. L’OPENCPN du PC recuperait les informations du GPS integre de ma tablette. Cette liaison ne fonctionne plus. Seul la transmission du PC vers la tablette fonctionne, en sens inverse pas de message NMEA sur le PC. Apres moult essais, il semblerait que cela vienne de la nouvelle version 1.015 d’OPENCPN sous Android. Merci pour vos idees.
