Selective desaturation is a good technique to guide the eye to a specific object or subject in a photo to make it stand out or give it full attention.

Also are you able to do any sort of selective desaturation? I saw a tutorial on youtube showing “teeth whitening” and wondered if there was an option for eye sharpening, etcI have a very old photoshop and it is lacking many options. Basically, all I can use it for is selective desat., the clone tool, and lighting effects.
