When I started rebuilding my 1946 1/2T truck, it had came with a rusted out 216 engine and a Carter YF manual choke carb. An acquaintance provided me with a 1955 235 engine. It came with a Rochester series B carb, automatic choke. I would much rather have the manual choke. Is it possible to use the Carter YF on my ’55 235?
Carter YF 2100 is correct for later 235.Should be a bolt on.The ones I used were manual choke models. I have personally used a 1904 Holley from a 60’s 225 Slant 6 Mopar several times.The Holley requires some modification to the linkage for Chevy use.

Carter YF carbs ? Welcome back at the forum Tim. There is mechanicall issue that i`ll undrstand you are aware of wich is that one has an auto choke and the other is a manual choke carb. To get these carbs funcitioning together is only to try them out. Then placing the carb with the manual choke nearest ofcourse.
