How to Start Your Echo Chainsaw. Add 2.6 ounces of 2-stroke engine oil for each gallon of gas in your gas can. Find the stationary handle on top of the motor near the chain bar and chain. Remove the fuel cap from the chainsaw engine. Remove the cap from the chain bar oil tank. Place the Echo chainsaw on firm ground.
