Metals on bows allow a good arrow speed (on par with slime) but a very slow draw speed (twice as long as slime), even manyullyn isn’t worth using for a bow. So I use Green Slime/Green Slime/Enchanted String, then Moss + 200 Redstone (5 modifiers: 3 base, +1 from Enchanted String, +1 from Diamond/Gold Block — haven’t added a Nether Star, but if I do, it’ll either be Pistons for meager knockback or another 50 Redstone).
