The US Army TA-312/PT Field Telephone has been the work horse field phone of the US Army since it was first introduced in the 1950s. Now is your chance to own one of these vintage military collectibles, with each TA-312/PT phone being an authentic original field phone.
The Telephone Set TA-312/PT is a two wire, battery-operated field telephone. It may be used in a simple point-to-point voice frequency (vf) wire communication link or in any two-wire ringdown subscriber position of a telephone communications system. The US Army field telephone TA-312 / PT is connected by a cable to another telephone of the same type or to the TA-43 / PT, a earlier model of the US armed forces. Turning a crank on the side produces current that sounds the other connected telephone audibly through a sound.
The TA-312/PT (and the earlier, similar TA-43/PT) may be used in a point-to-point wire system or in any two-wire ring-down subscriber position of a telephone communications system.
