.A ‘manual safety’ is irrelevant when it comes to protecting small kids; it won’t protect a kid for one second if they pick it up. In my opinion, any gun in a house with small kids should be in a safe, completely out of reach until they can be full taught the gravity of what a gun can do and how to use them.

Today I spent some time with a decocker model. I had felt bad that I did not go for the decocker model, but now that I got a feel for it, I realize that for me, it would not make a huge difference. In short, I don’t regret not getting a decocker model and I’m not buying one just for the feature.
Ok, this is probably a dumb question but I’ve never owned or operated a pistol with a decocker. If I have a decocker this usually means there is no manual safety correct? Like on my CZ 75 B. I have a manual safety but there is also a decocker model. I understand the decocker will help bring the hammer to have cocked without the risk of hitting the pin but there is no manual safey correct?
CZ 75 SP-01, decocker or no? submitted 6 years ago by [deleted] Hey guys, I’m thinking about picking up a shadow for my first IPSC gun. I have owned plenty pistols in the past but this will be my first one to shoot ipsc with (production). I have an SP-01 with manual safety (non tactical I
How are these 3 HK P30’s different??? The one on the top-right has a hammer and a manual safety, so with only that information, I assume that it is a P30S (S = manual safety) Variant 3 (DA/SA with decocker and manual safety, with the ability to be carried cocked and locked).
I agree with Ak47 bro that ultimate safety is the guns with three point safety i.e safety and decocker in one. But I prefer the guns with manual safety, if the gun doesn’t have a 3 point safety, because the manual safety locks the sear and the trigger mechanism of the gun. So trigger cant be pulled accidentally, and slide cant be racked. At condition 1, considered a pistol that is ready to be used, the manual safety is the last thing to be switched off before engaging targets. While the civilian pistol market varies far greater than the few pistols employed for military and law enforcement use, the prevalence of manual safeties in pistols has remained.
Manual Safeties On Carry Guns: Pro Vs. Con. Advantages of a Manual Safety. Some shooters only feel confident when carrying a firearm with a manual safety, and there’s little room to argue that a gun with a manual safety is far superior to having no gun at all. Along that same vein, many
My other is a Sig P238, modelled on the 1911 platform (with a few slight changes to the safety function). No decocker, but only a manual safety (no additional beavertail lik
