The MAXScript Online Help provides an advanced example of using the PArray to generate debris then animated by PFlow. The 3dsmax Online Tutorials also provide an example of a chunky explosion. The simple tutorial provides the basics of setting up an explosion to chunks using a Scripted Birth Event can pflow work with deflectors? I am more than familiar with superspray and the older particle systems which i have used for years. only just (slightly embarrassing) moving up to pflow but my animation sequence will not work with Pflow, i have one geometry based deflector a U shaped pipe and a second simple planar deflector. pflow will link to these but nothing happens? i tried the iterations

Particle View is where you manage and edit the particle system. The main window, known as the event display, contains the particle diagram, which describes the particle system. The default system starts with a global event, with the same name as the Particle Flow icon, followed by a birth event, containing a Birth operator and several others that define the system’s initial properties.
In this 3ds Max tutorial we will take an introductory look at particle flow to create custom particle systems. Throughout this tutorial, we’ll learn how to create a Particle Flow Source and how to navigate the Particle View interface.
Creating this 3ds Max rain tutorial was fairly easy. Basically, I just set up two plane objects, one smaller and above the bottom. 3ds Max Particle Tutorial. Then I open the Particle View in 3ds Max for editing events. I can set the position and speed of the particle flow (rain and rain drops), set the gravity force with Space Warps.
Visual effects artist and fellow 3ds Max Master, Allan McKay, was contracted to created these Particle Flow presets specifically to ship with 3ds Max. They are a killer starting point for projects, as well as an excellent way for new users to reverse-engineer Particle Flow’s event-driven particle system.
