The H4n power switch has an extra position: pushing it to the left (when you’re facing the side of the unit) activates the “Hold” feature, which causes the H4n to ignore all button presses. Re the phantom power issue – I think the original advice was given in the context of handheld recorders in general vs some of the more current-hungry condenser mics (CAD M179, for example). I use external phantom power as much for peace of mind as anything, so I’m not worrying about compromising the performance of the mic.
I decided if I get one it will be the H4N Pro, and I have a funny feeling there’s major upgrades due for the others. And since the H4N Pro this doesn’t sync with a DSLR I was thinking I could run the HDMI audio out of my camera into a back channel of the Zoom and sync them on a timeline GUI.

One thing I’m wondering about though, and I can’t seem to figure it out from the H4n manual, is about the issue of one input needing phantom power and the other not. The Zoom itself only gives an option to switch phantom power on or off (as well as what volt) but it doesn’t give an option to designate which of the inputs you want it on, or forNwz f886 manual lymphatic drainage
