There is a lack of information from the Project Speed box site to state if there is a function available that corrects for the phased winding of a synchronous motor. This function is typically performed with a capacitor and if the frequency of the ac supply is varied to change rotational speed, then the capacitor would also require a change in value.Otherwise you are stuck with a manual belt
SpeedBox presents tuning tools for electric bikes with Bosch, Yamaha Powerdrive, Syncdrive, PW-X, PW-SE, Impulse, Shimano STEPS, Brose and Bafang Max Drive engines. The “SpeedBox 2” series the display will show the correct speed (available for Bosch and Yamaha drive systems).
Hopefully, I can tie it in to the existing 16V motor and tweak the speed for 33 and 45 (not sure what the frequencies are, or if the Pro-Ject Speedbox SE will work with a Thorens 16v motor) Still, I may research it (since the Thorens TD320 is worthy of such an upgrade, if it is possible).
ProJect Speedbox S Check compatibility list A very useful accessory for many Pro-Ject turntables, that do not offer a built-in electronic speed change.
Project’s own website suggests that the Speed Box II is compatible (that is, they don’t say it isn’t) but they list this table as NOT being compatible with Speed Box S. I’m not really sure why because the table has a detachable power cable. Can anyone advise?

The project speed box is for 16 v AC motors ,In the U.S. (60 Hz) that means you place the belt in the larger motor pulley (the 45-RPM pulley). In Europe, you would purchase the Speed Box II for 50 Hz and place your belt in the smaller pulley (the 33-RPM pulley). Any turntable with 16 V AC motors should be ok .
The Project Speed Box DS Strobo is a power supply used to control the speed of turntables. Compatible with a wide range of turntables; this electronic power supply gives precise control over the speed and works with all Pro-Ject turntables that have AC motor powered by mains supply.

Be sure to pick up the Speed Box while you’re at it, and spring for a better cartridge when you can. You’ll gain a solid entry into the wonderful world of vinyl at a price I would never have thought was possible. And if your budget is bigger, you owe it to yourself to audition some of the other models in the Pro-Ject range.

in my system of a project rpm 9 the speed box simply overhauled the sound. huge and i mean huge difference in every single aspect of the sound. without the speed box the sound was a little jagged. i thought something was missing cos i had heard my table with a blue point evo and now have the blue point no 2 which is one step lower. i also attributed the missing involment to poor set up (this
Got a Henway? Weighing in at just over a pound with a retail price of $119, I wasn’t expecting much from the Pro-Ject Speed Box II. Even Pro-Ject’s literature doesn’t provide much by way of expounding its virtues other than to provide a simple laundry list of specs.Metasynth manual transfer
