Safe Congregation Policies and Program. This Society is a Safe Congregation where practices and procedures serve to ensure that all members, friends, adults, children and youth are treated with respect. Our policies and procedures cover a large range of issues related to all aspects of safety at the Society.
The content of the church’s Safety and Security Policies and Procedures manual is contained in various posts in the Policies and Procedures section of the website. The website also has the full manual in PDF form.
Any UU church desiring to become a Welcoming Congregation must meet the requirements set out in The Welcoming Congregation Handbook by LGBTQ Ministries. Once the requirements have been met, the UUA designates that church as a Welcoming Congregation and adds an icon to the listing in the UUA Directory.
Traditionally, in Unitarian Universalist congregations, summer time is a bit slower. Children’s religious education goes on hold. The minister goes on study leave and vacation (please look for a special eblast that will explain all about this!) and often committees and teams take a break.
